Jiahui Health CEO: thumbs up for China’s most open city
By:Liu Yilin  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2018-08-07 08:56

This change is more obvious in the increasingly close international academic communication. He is amazed by the change of mainland China’s medical technology and environment in the past decade. He says that some technology in Shanghai is now on a par or has superseded the level of developed countries.

In the first years as an advisor to Jiahui’s project, Hsiang traveled between Shanghai and Seattle once a month. During that time, Shanghai’s inclusiveness, pursuit of perfection, and the people’s innovation and diligence, strengthened his determination to contribute to this city. Meanwhile, he was also aware of the tradeoff he must make between his two positions. In 2016, he resigned from the Swedish Medical Center Seattle as the chief physician of neurosurgery and joined Jiahui full-time, beginning his career as a foreign expert who operates and teaches in Shanghai Renji Hospital. Since then, he has become a new Shanghainese and celebrated the Spring Festival in China for the first time. He felt the changes of the city and the people’s pursuit for a better life.
